Responsible Gaming
GoldenRoo is intended to provide entertainment for adults. Gambling always involves risk, and every player should understand that losing money is a normal possible outcome.
Casino games should never be treated as a source of regular income, an investment or a way to recover previous losses. Only use money that remains after essential expenses have been covered.
Staying in Control
Decide how much time and money you are prepared to spend before starting a gaming session. Treat this amount as the cost of entertainment and do not increase it because a game is not producing the result you expected.
| Healthy playing habit | Risky playing behaviour |
|---|---|
| Setting a budget in advance | Depositing more after reaching the budget |
| Taking regular breaks | Playing continuously for long periods |
| Accepting losses | Trying to win losses back immediately |
| Using disposable income | Gambling with rent, food or borrowed money |
| Playing for entertainment | Relying on gambling to generate income |
| Stopping when play is no longer enjoyable | Continuing while stressed, angry or tired |
Keep track of your deposits and withdrawals rather than relying on memory. Avoid playing while under the influence of alcohol or when you are emotionally distressed.
Winning and losing streaks do not change the random nature of casino games. A previous loss does not make a future win more likely.
Warning Signs
Gambling may be becoming harmful if you regularly spend more than planned, hide your activity, borrow money to continue playing or neglect work and personal responsibilities.
Other warning signs include chasing losses, feeling unable to stop, becoming anxious when not playing, increasing stakes to maintain excitement and using gambling to escape financial or emotional problems.
If you recognise these behaviours, take a break and discuss the situation with someone you trust. Seeking help early can prevent further financial and personal harm.
Taking a Break or Self-Excluding
You may ask GoldenRoo Customer Support to self-exclude your account. The request must be sent from the email address registered to the account and should clearly state that you wish to self-exclude.
GoldenRoo will apply the request within 24 hours of receiving it. Once self-exclusion is active, the account will be disabled and you will not be able to log in or continue playing.
Do not create another account or attempt to bypass self-exclusion. If you use other gambling services, consider applying equivalent restrictions to those accounts as well.
You can also reduce access by removing saved payment details, blocking gambling transactions through your bank and installing gambling-blocking software on your devices.
Protecting Minors
GoldenRoo is available only to adults aged 18 or older, or the higher legal gambling age required in their jurisdiction.
Account credentials and payment information must not be shared with minors. If children use the same computer or mobile device, keep the account logged out and consider enabling parental controls or website-blocking software.
GoldenRoo may request proof of age at any time. An account suspected of being used by a minor can be suspended while the matter is investigated.
Independent Support
If gambling is affecting your finances, relationships, work or mental health, professional support is available.
Australian residents can contact the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858. Free and confidential assistance is available through Gambling Help Online.
Support can also be provided by a financial counsellor, healthcare professional or local problem-gambling service. You do not need to wait until the situation becomes severe before asking for help.
Responsible gaming begins with recognising that gambling outcomes cannot be controlled. Set clear boundaries, monitor your activity and stop whenever playing is no longer safe or enjoyable.
